Using SmartMail

Terms of use

A few clear expectations for using SmartMail, connecting your mailbox, and reading, organizing, and sending email.

Pre-release draft · Gmail core edition · Updated October 3, 2026

These terms describe the Gmail core edition prepared for OAuth review. Cloud AI is disabled in this edition. A later AI release will require updated data processing disclosures and applicable review.

1. The service

SmartMail is operated by 王以禧, an independent developer based in Singapore. It is an email client for reading, organizing, and sending messages through a mailbox you connect. Cloud AI summaries, writing, translation, and assistant tasks are planned for a later release and are disabled in the Gmail core edition. Features vary by platform and version.

Your mail provider continues to operate your mailbox. Using SmartMail does not create a new Google or Microsoft account or replace your agreement with your mail provider. Your provider’s permissions, policies, and account restrictions still apply.

2. Accounts and access

Connect only mailboxes you own or are authorized to use. Keep your device and credentials secure. Do not share passwords or tokens with support. Your mailbox connection and your any future SmartMail service account are separate; disconnecting one does not automatically delete the other.

When website sign-in is configured, you can use Google to create or access a SmartMail AI service account, or use your existing SmartMail email and password. Google identity sign-in does not connect Gmail or authorize reading your mail. Account identity is checked separately from mailbox permissions. Matching email addresses do not automatically link a Google identity to an existing password account.

The website uses necessary account and sign-in security cookies. See the cookie disclosure for their purpose and authentication lifetimes. Google website sign-in requires a configured Google web client and deployed account service; existing-password sign-in requires the account service. Availability is shown on the sign-in page.

Use the service lawfully. Do not use it to send spam, access someone else’s data without permission, interfere with the service, or circumvent access controls or usage quotas.

3. Your messages and content

Connecting a mailbox does not transfer ownership of your messages to SmartMail. You are responsible for the content you send, instructions you submit, and having permission to process content that belongs to other people. Mail actions such as sending or deleting messages can affect your connected mailbox.

Review recipients, attachments, and message contents before sending. Maintain any backups you need. Our privacy policy explains local storage, mailbox access, and the current edition’s data handling.

4. Planned AI features

Cloud AI is disabled in the Gmail core edition. If enabled in a later release, these features would send relevant task information to a SmartMail AI service and model provider. They can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate answers, translations, summaries, and drafts. Check important facts, dates, decisions, and wording against the original message before relying on an output or sending it.

Do not treat an AI response as professional advice or an assurance that an email is safe. Provider handling and retention disclosures and applicable review must be completed before cloud email AI is enabled.

5. Pre-release availability and changes

SmartMail is under development. Features, model providers, and access may change, and the app may contain errors. Email synchronization depends on network access and third-party services. A future AI release may have separate account and quota requirements.

These draft terms do not promise uninterrupted service, a particular model, or a production release date. Any future paid offering will need its pricing and applicable purchase terms disclosed before purchase. Nothing in this draft is intended to override rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

6. Stopping use and contacting us

You can remove a mailbox connection and revoke provider authorization. These actions have different effects and do not all delete stored information. See Support for the current steps.
